What is a mentor?

Mentor is a figure from Homer’s Odyssey, friend of Ulysses. Mentor was the fatherly adviser and educator of Ulysses’ son Telemach. Due to his importance in Homer’s Odyssey, his name was borrowed, which symbolizes a person who gives advice or teaches. Luke Skywalker had Yoda, Frodo Baggins had Gandalf, Anthony Robbins had Jim Rohn, Jim Rohn had Earl Shoaff, Alexander the Great had Aristotle – all the greats, real or fictitious, allowed themselves the luxury of a mentor. Great life plans include a well-intentioned perspective beyond everyday life – a life mentor.
